A senior Singapore semiconductor official has suggested India establish an umbrella agency to better translate research into industry, accelerating its growing semiconductor ecosystem. Navab Singh noted that while Indian institutions like IITs and IISc are investing in research and companies like Tata Electronics are driving investments, a dedicated body could bridge the gap. He highlighted A*STAR's model of working with universities and industry to develop technologies. Singh anticipates significant momentum in India's semiconductor sector over the next three to five years, potentially attracting greater international attention.
