NHRC Team to Visit Kendrapada on Oct 5 Over Alleged Assault on Dalit Sarpanch

NHRC team will visit Kendrapada to investigate the alleged assault and mistreatment of Chameli Ojha, a Dalit sarpanch from Tikhiri gram panchayat. Ojha claims she was abused and assaulted by police and the block development officer on June 11 after raising corruption allegations. The NHRC team will conduct a spot inquiry, examining officials and eyewitnesses. A human rights group had previously petitioned the NHRC, alleging Ojha was falsely implicated in cases after her complaint.

दलित सरपंच पर कथित हमले के मामले में एनएचआरसी की टीम 5 अक्टूबर को केंन्द्रपाड़ा का दौरा करेगी

एनएचआरसी की टीम तिखिरी ग्राम पंचायत की दलित सरपंच चमेली ओझा पर कथित हमले और दुर्व्यवहार की जांच के लिए केंन्द्रपाड़ा का दौरा करेगी। ओझा का दावा है कि 11 जून को भ्रष्टाचार के आरोप लगाने के बाद पुलिस और ब्लॉक डेवलपमेंट ऑफिसर ने उनके साथ दुर्व्यवहार किया और मारपीट की। एनएचआरसी की टीम मौके पर जांच करेगी और अधिकारियों तथा प्रत्यक्षदर्शियों से पूछताछ करेगी। इससे पहले एक मानवाधिकार समूह ने एनएचआरसी में याचिका दायर कर आरोप लगाया था कि ओझा की शिकायत के बाद उन्हें झूठे मामलों में फंसाया गया था।
