Mizoram Home Minister K Sapdanga expressed satisfaction with Operation Trident, which targeted drug-trafficking kingpins. The operation resulted in 18 arrests, the seizure of Rs 12 lakh cash and 500 detonators, and the freezing of 1,424 bank accounts. Conducted across Mizoram and Manipur, it is considered the start of a nationwide anti-drug campaign. Sapdanga urged the Young Mizo Association to collaborate with enforcement agencies to dismantle drug syndicates, emphasizing the protection of youth and improved law and order as key success metrics.
