News18 Hindi · india
Tourists at Valmiki Tiger Reserve in West Champaran were astonished to see a deer skull with antlers hanging from a tree. A nature guide explained that a tiger had recently hunted the deer, leaving only the skull. Other deer in the area were observed chewing on the antlers, which are rich in calcium. These 'antlers', made of bone, differ from keratin-based horns of cattle. Reserve guides remove the skulls from the ground to prevent deer from consuming them, as it can be both beneficial and harmful.
