Karnataka CM Writes to BMRCL Backing Residents' Demand to Rename IIMB Metro Station

Karnataka Chief Minister DK Shivakumar has supported the demand of Bilekahalli residents to rename the IIMB Metro station on the Pink Line. He has written to the BMRCL managing director, proposing the station be named Bilekahalli-IIMB. The CM highlighted Bilekahalli's historical significance and its recognition by residents. This move aims to better identify the station with the local area. The Pink Line's elevated section is slated to open for commercial operations in October, pending safety clearance.

कर्नाटक के मुख्यमंत्री डीके शिवकुमार ने पिंक लाइन पर आईआईएमबी मेट्रो स्टेशन का नाम बदलकर बिलेकहल्ली निवासियों की मांग का समर्थन किया है। उन्होंने बीएमआरसीएल के प्रबंध निदेशक को पत्र लिखकर स्टेशन का नाम बिलेकहल्ली-आईआईएमबी रखने का प्रस्ताव दिया है। सीएम ने बिलेकहल्ली के ऐतिहासिक महत्व और निवासियों द्वारा इसे पहचाने जाने पर जोर दिया। इस कदम का उद्देश्य स्टेशन को स्थानीय क्षेत्र के साथ बेहतर ढंग से जोड़ना है। पिंक लाइन के एलिवेटेड सेक्शन को सुरक्षा मंजूरी मिलने पर अक्टूबर में वाणिज्यिक संचालन के लिए खोला जाना है।
