Dinesh Mahto, a farmer from Sitamarhi district, has achieved remarkable success by cultivating pointed gourd (parwal) on 18 kaththa land. Initially starting with 200 plants three years ago, he now prepares his own nursery and expands his cultivation area. He harvests about one quintal of parwal daily, earning a net profit of approximately ₹3,000 after expenses, with market prices ranging from ₹4,000 to ₹4,500 per quintal. Mahto also cultivates seasonal crops like cauliflower, potato, and beetroot in the same land, ensuring year-round income.
