External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar stated that India and Ghana, historical partners and champions of the Global South, should advance their comprehensive partnership. Speaking in Ghana, he highlighted shared challenges and development priorities, noting similarities between Ghanaian initiatives like Accra Reset and Feed Ghana with India's Ayushman Bharat and farmer welfare programs. Discussions focused on expanding cooperation beyond existing agreements in areas such as pharmaceuticals, mining, defence, and digital sectors. Jaishankar's visit follows Prime Minister Modi's historic trip last year, aiming to deepen bilateral relations.
