An Arizona man, Layne Lundeen, 67, appeared in a Maryland court after being duct-taped to his seat on an American Airlines flight for a racist outburst. Lundeen told the court he has no memory of the mid-air disturbance that diverted the plane to Baltimore. He faces charges of assault and disorderly conduct. Witnesses reported he used profanities and racial slurs, becoming physically aggressive. Passengers and crew restrained him with tape and zip ties.
