Delhi's food safety department has seized and destroyed over 4,000 kg of food items, including khoya, ghee, and sweets, in the past two months. Out of 290 samples tested, 85 were found to be unsafe or below standard. Authorities conducted 30 raids across areas like Mori Gate, Okhla, and Janakpuri, confiscating large quantities of food. This action comes as demand for sweets surges during festivals like Diwali, increasing the risk of adulterated products entering the market. The special festive drive aims to enhance surveillance and inspections to ensure food safety.

दिल्ली के खाद्य सुरक्षा विभाग ने पिछले दो महीनों में 4,000 किलो से ज़्यादा खोया, घी और मिठाइयों जैसे खाने के सामान को जब्त कर नष्ट कर दिया है। जांचे गए 290 नमूनों में से 85 असुरक्षित या मानक से कम पाए गए। अधिकारियों ने मोरी गेट, ओखला और जनकपुरी जैसे इलाकों में 30 छापे मारे, जिसमें भारी मात्रा में खाने का सामान जब्त किया गया। यह कार्रवाई दिवाली जैसे त्योहारों के दौरान मिठाइयों की मांग बढ़ने के साथ आई है, जिससे मिलावटी उत्पादों के बाजार में आने का खतरा बढ़ गया है। विशेष त्योहारी अभियान का उद्देश्य खाद्य सुरक्षा सुनिश्चित करने के लिए निगरानी और निरीक्षण को बढ़ाना है।
