Academics Condemn Tamil Nadu Police Harassment of MIDS Professor Kalaiyarasan

Colleagues and members of the academic community have strongly condemned the Tamil Nadu police for allegedly harassing MIDS professor Kalaiyarasan based on misinformation. Seventeen academics expressed shock that the police reportedly picked him up from his residence early in the morning without following proper procedure. They highlighted that such actions are particularly concerning given his position at MIDS, a premier academic institution. The academics noted reassurance from the Chief Minister meeting Dr. Kalaiyarasan and expressed regret, urging government action against those responsible and to ensure academic freedom.
