Nifty Midcap 150 Index Drops 7% in September

The Nifty Midcap 150 index has fallen nearly 7 per cent in September, a significant drop after a 21 per cent gain from April to August. As of September 28, over 87 per cent of its constituent stocks showed losses compared to the previous month. This midcap segment decline is sharper than that seen in the Nifty 50 and Nifty Smallcap 250 indices. Experts caution that further pain may occur if leveraged positions are unwound, with potential for an additional 5 per cent slip.

सितंबर में Nifty Midcap 150 इंडेक्स करीब 7 फीसदी गिर गया है। यह अप्रैल से अगस्त तक 21 फीसदी की बढ़त के बाद एक बड़ी गिरावट है। 28 सितंबर तक, इसके 87 फीसदी से ज़्यादा शेयरों में पिछले महीने के मुकाबले नुकसान दिखा। Nifty 50 और Nifty Smallcap 250 इंडेक्स की तुलना में इस मिडकैप सेगमेंट में गिरावट ज़्यादा तेज़ है। एक्सपर्ट्स आगाह कर रहे हैं कि अगर लीवरेज्ड पोजीशन को अनवाइंड किया गया तो और ज़्यादा नुकसान हो सकता है, जिसमें 5 फीसदी की और गिरावट की संभावना है।
