Centre Asks Bankers to Record All Scheme Benefits for Scheduled Caste Beneficiaries

The Union Ministry of Finance has directed State Level Bankers Committees (SLBCs) to meticulously record all benefits disbursed under government schemes for Scheduled Caste individuals. This directive aims to improve the monitoring of aid reaching targeted beneficiaries. The National Commission for Scheduled Castes had previously highlighted insufficient data to track the effectiveness of these welfare programs. The move is also seen as a way to bolster the government's claims of empowering marginalized communities, especially ahead of state assembly elections.
