Palakkad Councillor Prasobh Valsan's Disqualification Stayed by EC

The State Election Commission (SEC) has stayed a notice seeking to end the membership of Palakkad municipal councillor Prashobh C. Valsan. The municipality had issued the notice in June, citing his absence from three consecutive council meetings as grounds for disqualification. Mr. Valsan, who represents Ward 24, was absent from meetings on April 30, May 29, and June 10, 2026, due to his arrest and judicial custody.

राज्य चुनाव आयोग (SEC) ने पालक्काड नगर निगम पार्षद प्रसौभ सी. वल्सन की सदस्यता समाप्त करने के नोटिस पर रोक लगा दी है। नगर निगम ने जून में यह नोटिस जारी किया था, जिसमें तीन लगातार परिषद बैठकों में उनकी अनुपस्थिति को अयोग्यता का आधार बताया गया था। वार्ड 24 का प्रतिनिधित्व करने वाले श्री वल्सन, अपनी गिरफ्तारी और न्यायिक हिरासत के कारण 30 अप्रैल, 29 मई और 10 जून, 2026 को हुई बैठकों में अनुपस्थित थे।
