The Tamil Nadu government has designated specific two-hour windows for bursting firecrackers during Deepavali 2026, allowing usage from 6 am to 7 am and 7 pm to 8 pm. This measure aims to reduce severe air and noise pollution while promoting safe, community-based celebrations. The administration emphasized environmental protection and encouraged eco-friendly practices over high-decibel fireworks. The state is also promoting community events in open spaces and restricting the use of joint or series crackers. Additionally, bursting firecrackers near silence zones and fire-prone areas is strictly prohibited.
