MEA has criticized the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF) for presenting a "distorted and selective picture of India." MEA Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal stated that instead of focusing on ideological narratives, the USCIRF should address vandalism and attacks targeting Hindu temples in the United States. He also noted growing intolerance and intimidation faced by the Indian diaspora in the U.S. The MEA believes the USCIRF's repeated misrepresentations undermine its own credibility.

विदेश मंत्रालय ने यू.एस. कमीशन ऑन इंटरनेशनल रिलीजियस फ्रीडम (USCIRF) की भारत की "विकृत और चुनिंदा तस्वीर" पेश करने के लिए आलोचना की है। विदेश मंत्रालय के प्रवक्ता रणधीर जयसवाल ने कहा कि वैचारिक आख्यानों पर ध्यान केंद्रित करने के बजाय, USCIRF को संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिका में हिंदू मंदिरों को निशाना बनाने वाले विध्वंस और हमलों को संबोधित करना चाहिए। उन्होंने अमेरिका में भारतीय प्रवासियों द्वारा सामना की जा रही बढ़ती असहिष्णुता और डराने-धमकाने का भी उल्लेख किया। विदेश मंत्रालय का मानना है कि USCIRF की बार-बार की गई गलत बयानी से उसकी अपनी विश्वसनीयता कम होती है।
