Mahatma Gandhi's great-grandson, Tushar Gandhi, was detained by Mumbai Police for approximately seven hours before being released. He was on his way to a protest at August Kranti Maidan when police took him into custody. Gandhi stated that police initially took him to D.N. Nagar police station and later to Borivali police station under the guise of a medical check-up. He was eventually allowed to go home after speaking with Aaditya Thackeray on the phone. Approximately 400 people, including actor Imran Khan, were detained during the planned protest.
