India-US Trade Deal Expected Soon, Says Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman expressed optimism that the India-US trade agreement will be concluded at the earliest, benefiting global trade and bilateral economic ties. She noted that negotiations are ongoing and the first phase of the pact has been finalized, currently undergoing legal drafting. Sitharaman also highlighted concerns regarding China's trade barriers and market access restrictions for Indian products. She added that India prefers negotiation over punitive tariffs to address trade imbalances. The minister also discussed BRICS as a partnership for member welfare and India's strong economic growth.

वित्त मंत्री निर्मला सीतारमण ने उम्मीद जताई कि भारत-अमेरिका व्यापार समझौता जल्द से जल्द पूरा हो जाएगा, जिससे वैश्विक व्यापार और द्विपक्षीय आर्थिक संबंधों को लाभ होगा। उन्होंने कहा कि बातचीत चल रही है और समझौते के पहले चरण को अंतिम रूप दे दिया गया है, जो वर्तमान में कानूनी मसौदा तैयार करने की प्रक्रिया में है। सीतारमण ने चीन के व्यापार अवरोधों और भारतीय उत्पादों के लिए बाजार पहुंच प्रतिबंधों पर भी चिंता जताई। उन्होंने कहा कि व्यापार असंतुलन को दूर करने के लिए भारत दंडात्मक शुल्कों के बजाय बातचीत को प्राथमिकता देता है। मंत्री ने BRICS को सदस्य कल्याण के लिए एक साझेदारी और भारत के मजबूत आर्थिक विकास के रूप में भी चर्चा की।
