The Trump administration plans to hire 3,000 additional Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents to accelerate mass deportations across the US. White House border czar Tom Homan stated that ICE has broken arrest records, with September seeing the highest monthly removals. Homan defended the crackdown, citing legal challenges and immigration court backlogs as obstacles to immediate deportations. He noted that over 100 nationwide injunctions and lawsuits are also hindering the administration's efforts to remove individuals.
