Guwahati Students Document 1,517 Species in Survey

A month-long biodiversity survey involving school students in Assam's Kamrup Metropolitan district has documented 1,517 species of flora and fauna. The initiative, titled Guwahati Bioblitz 2025, saw 48 students make 5,932 observations. The final tally included 993 plant species, 221 insect species, 117 bird species, 25 mammal species, and 10 reptile species. Organised by Help Earth and the Assam Climate Change Management Society, the survey aimed to foster ecological literacy and continuous.

असम के कामरूप मेट्रोपॉलिटन जिले में स्कूल के बच्चों ने एक महीने तक चले बायोडायवर्सिटी सर्वे में 1,517 तरह के पेड़-पौधों और जीवों को गिना। इस 'गुवाहाटी बायोब्लिट्ज़ 2025' में 48 बच्चों ने 5,932 चीज़ें देखीं। इनमें 993 पौधों की प्रजातियां, 221 कीड़े, 117 पक्षी, 25 स्तनधारी और 10 सरीसृप शामिल थे। इसका मकसद बच्चों को पर्यावरण के बारे में सिखाना था।
