MIDS Professor Alleges Police Harassment Over Fake Instagram Account

Madras Institute of Development Studies Associate Professor A. Kalaiyarasan has alleged that three plainclothes policemen took him from his residence for an inquiry into an abusive social media post without showing a complaint or FIR. He claimed his photograph was misused to create a fake Instagram account targeting a Pallavaram TVK MLA. Police questioned him and examined his mobile phone, later concluding he had not posted the content. Following verification, his phone was returned, and he was dropped home.
