The Congress has replaced Ajay Rai with Aradhana Mishra ‘Mona’ as the Uttar Pradesh state unit chief and appointed Imran Masood as working president ahead of the 2027 assembly elections. This organisational shake-up aims to rebuild the party's organisation and broaden its social reach in a state where it has struggled electorally. The appointments combine a Brahmin leader from eastern UP with a Muslim leader from western UP, alongside a Dalit state in-charge, reflecting an attempt to create a wider caste-regional balance.

कांग्रेस ने अजय राय की जगह इमरान मसूद को कार्यकारी अध्यक्ष नियुक्त करने के साथ आराधना मिश्रा ‘मोना’ को उत्तर प्रदेश राज्य इकाई का प्रमुख बनाया है, जो 2027 के विधानसभा चुनावों से पहले हुआ है। इस संगठनात्मक फेरबदल का उद्देश्य पार्टी के संगठन को फिर से बनाना और उस राज्य में अपनी सामाजिक पहुंच का विस्तार करना है जहाँ उसे चुनावी संघर्ष करना पड़ा है। नियुक्तियों में पूर्वी यूपी के एक ब्राह्मण नेता को पश्चिमी यूपी के एक मुस्लिम नेता के साथ जोड़ा गया है, साथ ही एक दलित राज्य प्रभारी भी हैं, जो व्यापक जाति-क्षेत्रीय संतुलन बनाने का प्रयास दर्शाता है।
