SoftBank Group has finalized its $30 billion investment in OpenAI, the company behind ChatGPT, concluding its commitment to the AI firm's latest fundraising round. This investment was structured in three $10 billion tranches through SoftBank's Vision Fund 2. Earlier this year, OpenAI secured $122 billion in commitments, valuing the company at $852 billion, with Amazon, Nvidia, and SoftBank as anchor investors. SoftBank's total investment now stands at $64.6 billion, granting it a 13% stake in the AI lab.
