अलीगढ़ की एक SC/ST कोर्ट ने नवंबर 2021 में एक दलित मजदूर की हत्या के मामले में 24 साल के युवक को उम्रकैद की सजा सुनाई है। कोर्ट ने कहा कि आरोपी की कम उम्र और पारिवारिक परिस्थितियां अपराध की गंभीरता से ज्यादा महत्वपूर्ण नहीं हो सकतीं। पीड़ित को प्लास्टिक के फंदे और चोटों के साथ मृत पाया गया था। CCTV फुटेज और पोस्टमार्टम रिपोर्ट, जिसमें कई एंटी-मॉर्टम चोटों का जिक्र था, अहम सबूत थे। अभियोजन पक्ष ने क्रूरता और पीड़ित के परिवार पर पड़े असर को उजागर किया, जिसमें दो नाबालिग बच्चे भी शामिल हैं।
