The Arunachal Pradesh unit of the BJP has strongly supported the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, citing the need to prevent the inflow of illegal migrants. The party emphasizes that accurate voter lists are crucial for safeguarding the state's land, culture, and identity, particularly for its numerous indigenous tribes. BJP General Secretary Tadar Niglar highlighted that SIR is a transparent process with safeguards for verification and objections. He criticized opposition parties for staging protests, calling their actions politically motivated attempts to create chaos rather than engage constructively.
