Kochi Corporation to Repair SA Road Metro Corridor Stretch Due to Sinking

The Kochi Corporation will repair the 3.10-km SA Road Metro corridor stretch, from Manorama Junction to Vyttila Junction, which is experiencing severe road sinking and hazardous undulations. Experts from NIT Calicut identified the cause as the settlement of loose subsoil on reclaimed paddy fields, leading to uneven ground compaction around Metro pile caps. The corporation has identified 75 locations needing repair and will implement permanent solutions based on the NIT team's recommendations, which are expected in 15 days.

कोच्चि कॉर्पोरेशन 3.10 किलोमीटर लंबे एसए रोड मेट्रो कॉरिडोर हिस्से की मरम्मत करेगा, जो मनोरमा जंक्शन से वायटिला जंक्शन तक है। इस हिस्से में सड़क बुरी तरह धंस रही है और खतरनाक ऊबड़-खाबड़ हो गई है। एनआईटी कैलिकट के विशेषज्ञों ने इसका कारण खाली पड़ी धान की भूमि पर ढीली उप-मिट्टी का बैठना बताया है, जिससे मेट्रो पाइल कैप के आसपास जमीन ठीक से नहीं दब पाई है। कॉर्पोरेशन ने मरम्मत के लिए 75 जगहों की पहचान की है और एनआईटी टीम की सिफारिशों के आधार पर स्थायी समाधान लागू करेगा, जो 15 दिनों में मिलने की उम्मीद है।
