India's Smart Home Future Lies In AI Devices, Not Hubs: Qubo CEO

Business Standard · business

While global markets are centralizing smart home control with hubs, Indian device maker Qubo believes India's market will follow a different path. CEO Nikhil Rajpal stated that India's smart home adoption is below 2%, and products should be designed around local infrastructure, price points, and consumer behaviour. Qubo has shipped 2.5 million devices and sees opportunity in making individual smart devices useful for daily life. Rajpal questions the need for hubs when local power sources and simpler connectivity are common in Indian homes, unlike in the West.

Qubo CEO
