The first Vande Bharat Sleeper train, built with Russian technology, is now expected to be rolled out by March 2027, a six-month delay from previous targets. Kinet Railway Solutions, the joint venture responsible for producing 120 trainsets, faces potential penalties due to unresolved issues with various components. These include problems with the mini-pantry car, berths, traction motor, and brake systems. The Rs 14,400 crore contract requires the firm to secure final approvals for manufacturing and rollout, with railways reportedly unwilling to offer further extensions.

रूसी तकनीक से बनी पहली वंदे भारत स्लीपर ट्रेन अब मार्च 2027 तक लॉन्च होने की उम्मीद है, जो पिछले लक्ष्यों से छह महीने की देरी है। 120 ट्रेनसेट बनाने के लिए जिम्मेदार Kinet Railway Solutions को विभिन्न घटकों के साथ अनसुलझे मुद्दों के कारण संभावित जुर्माने का सामना करना पड़ रहा है। इनमें मिनी-पैंट्री कार, बर्थ, ट्रैक्शन मोटर और ब्रेक सिस्टम की समस्याएं शामिल हैं। 14,400 करोड़ रुपये के अनुबंध के तहत फर्म को निर्माण और लॉन्च के लिए अंतिम मंजूरी लेनी होगी, जबकि रेलवे कथित तौर पर आगे की मोहलत देने को तैयार नहीं है।
