India Mandates Automatic Emergency Braking System For Cars From Oct 2030
Times of India · automobile
The Indian government plans to make Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) mandatory for cars, with a focus on taxis, to reduce road accidents. From October 2030, all new car models must be equipped with the Advanced Emergency Braking System (AEBS). For existing models still in production, AEBS will be mandatory from October 2032. This move aims to enhance vehicle safety by automatically applying brakes to prevent or mitigate collisions when drivers fail to respond.
