The Cutbona Boat Owners Federation has formally requested the directorate of fisheries to urgently address the poor sanitation and maintenance at the Cutbona fishing jetty. Their written representation highlighted issues like stagnant water, rotting fish, inadequate traffic management, and the presence of idle vessels occupying crucial space. Federation secretary Patrick D’Silva emphasized the need for timely intervention to ensure smooth operations and protect the fishing community's interests. He also pointed out the unresolved issue of a sunken fishing boat near the jetty, which poses a significant safety hazard.
