US Pentagon Designates Chinese Confucius Institutes a National Security Threat

The United States Department of Defense has officially designated Confucius Institutes, Chinese-funded cultural centers on university campuses, as a threat to national security. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth announced the move, stating the Pentagon has added these organizations to its list of institutions that endanger US security. Washington has long accused the centers of operating as Chinese propaganda tools and infiltrating universities. Hegseth revealed that despite being banned by Congress, these institutes have reappeared under different names and charters, aiming to steal intellectual property and influence students.
