Supreme Court Clarifies Legality of EC's 'Logical Discrepancy' Checks Unsettled
Times of India · politics
The Supreme Court has clarified that it has not made a final ruling on the Election Commission of India's use of the 'logical discrepancy' category to flag voter details during electoral roll revisions. An earlier decision allowing its use in West Bengal was an interim measure, and the court's ruling on the Bihar exercise did not settle all legal questions. This clarification came during a hearing on a petition alleging a lack of transparency in voter notices during the ongoing Special Intensive Revision exercise in Delhi.
