Lingampalli Himaja, a 20-year-old student from Andhra Pradesh, has been shortlisted in the global top 20 for the James Dyson Award 2026. She developed Rudhra, a voice-enabled Braille printer designed to empower visually impaired individuals to create documents independently. The innovation was inspired by challenges observed in traditional Braille writing methods. Rudhra converts spoken words into text, which is then translated into Braille patterns for printing, simplifying the document creation process significantly.
