Tamil Nadu Power Distributor Asks High Tension Consumers to Use Generators at Night

The Tamil Nadu Power Distribution Corporation Limited (TNPDCL) has requested high tension electricity consumers to switch to generators between 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. This suggestion has been communicated via messages over the past two weeks. While consumers have not refused, they have raised concerns about the viability and increased costs associated with using generators. Foundry owners noted that generator costs are significantly higher than grid power and may not support their production processes.
