CBSE Class X 2028 Scheme: Five Board Papers, Optional Skill Subject as Safety Net

CBSE has clarified the Class X examination structure for students entering Class IX in 2026-27, who will appear for board exams in 2028. They will face five compulsory board papers: two languages, mathematics, science, and social science. An optional skill subject can act as a safety net, potentially replacing a failed core subject like mathematics or science. Students can choose between school-based assessment for vocational education or a board examination for a nationally recognised skill certification. This aims to encourage meaningful learning over rote memorisation.

सीबीएसई ने 2026-27 में क्लास IX में प्रवेश करने वाले छात्रों के लिए क्लास X परीक्षा संरचना को स्पष्ट किया है, जो 2028 में बोर्ड परीक्षा देंगे। उन्हें पांच अनिवार्य बोर्ड पेपर देने होंगे: दो भाषाएं, गणित, विज्ञान और सामाजिक विज्ञान। एक वैकल्पिक स्किल विषय गणित या विज्ञान जैसे किसी असफल मुख्य विषय को बदलने के लिए सुरक्षा जाल के रूप में काम कर सकता है। छात्र व्यावसायिक शिक्षा के लिए स्कूल-आधारित मूल्यांकन या राष्ट्रीय स्तर पर मान्यता प्राप्त स्किल प्रमाणन के लिए बोर्ड परीक्षा के बीच चयन कर सकते हैं। इसका उद्देश्य रटने की बजाय सार्थक सीखने को बढ़ावा देना है।
