The Allahabad High Court has rejected a plea seeking to make BTech graduates in Food Technology and related fields eligible for 417 Junior Analyst (Food) posts in Uttar Pradesh. The court upheld the state government's authority to prescribe educational qualifications for its departmental cadre. Petitioners argued that BTech degrees should be recognised, citing existing Food Safety and Standards Rules. However, the state contended that Junior Analyst (Food) and Food Analyst are distinct posts. The court found no merit in the challenge and dismissed the petition.

इलाहाबाद हाई कोर्ट ने उत्तर प्रदेश में जूनियर एनालिस्ट (फूड) के 417 पदों के लिए फूड टेक्नोलॉजी और संबंधित क्षेत्रों में बीटेक स्नातकों को योग्य बनाने की मांग करने वाली याचिका खारिज कर दी है। कोर्ट ने अपने विभागीय कैडर के लिए शैक्षिक योग्यता निर्धारित करने में राज्य सरकार के अधिकार को बरकरार रखा। याचिकाकर्ताओं ने मौजूदा फूड सेफ्टी एंड स्टैंडर्ड्स रूल्स का हवाला देते हुए तर्क दिया कि बीटेक डिग्री को मान्यता दी जानी चाहिए। हालांकि, राज्य ने दलील दी कि जूनियर एनालिस्ट (फूड) और फूड एनालिस्ट अलग-अलग पद हैं। कोर्ट ने चुनौती में कोई दम नहीं पाया और याचिका खारिज कर दी।
