Shiv Sena MLA Sanjay Gaikwad has controversially suggested that the bodies of farmers who commit suicide should not be cremated. He believes that if no one attends their funerals and their bodies are consumed by animals, it might deter others from taking their own lives. Gaikwad urged farmers to support their families and not leave them destitute. He also questioned the broken vows of marriage and family care when farmers end their lives, stating that problems should be communicated to government representatives.
