Tamil Nadu Theatres Seek 6 AM Shows; Government to Review Industry Demands

Tamil Nadu theatre owners are pushing for significant changes, including permission for 6 AM shows and screenings until 2 AM, mirroring practices in neighbouring states. They also requested an extended eight-week window before films can be released on OTT platforms. The industry also proposed the government launch its own OTT platform for small-budget films and implement an online system for transparent box office collection reporting. Minister Rajmohan indicated that approximately 90% of the industry's demands have been accepted and will be reviewed by the Chief Minister.

तमिलनाडु के थिएटर मालिक 6 बजे सुबह के शो और रात 2 बजे तक स्क्रीनिंग की अनुमति सहित महत्वपूर्ण बदलावों के लिए जोर दे रहे हैं, जो पड़ोसी राज्यों की प्रथाओं को दर्शाते हैं। उन्होंने फिल्मों को OTT प्लेटफॉर्म पर जारी करने से पहले आठ सप्ताह की विस्तारित विंडो का भी अनुरोध किया। उद्योग ने सरकार से छोटे बजट की फिल्मों के लिए अपना OTT प्लेटफॉर्म लॉन्च करने और पारदर्शी बॉक्स ऑफिस कलेक्शन रिपोर्टिंग के लिए एक ऑनलाइन प्रणाली लागू करने का भी प्रस्ताव दिया। मंत्री राजमोहन ने संकेत दिया कि उद्योग की लगभग 90% मांगों को स्वीकार कर लिया गया है और मुख्यमंत्री द्वारा उनकी समीक्षा की जाएगी।
