Belarus Opposition Leader's Husband Criticizes Wife's Office

Siarhei Tsikhanouski, husband of Belarusian opposition leader Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya, has publicly criticized her office and questioned her legitimacy. Released from prison in June 2025 after serving nearly five years, Tsikhanouski has reactivated his YouTube channel to voice his dissent. He claims that while Tsikhanouskaya has legitimacy from the EU, she lacks it from Belarusians. Tsikhanouski suggests forming a supervisory board of prominent opposition figures to oversee grant funds, including himself and his wife.

बेलारूस की विपक्षी नेता सवियात्लाना त्सिखानोस्काया के पति सियारहे त्सिखानोस्की ने सार्वजनिक रूप से उनके कार्यालय की आलोचना की है और उनकी वैधता पर सवाल उठाए हैं। जून 2025 में लगभग पांच साल की सजा काटने के बाद जेल से रिहा हुए त्सिखानोस्की ने अपने असंतोष को व्यक्त करने के लिए अपना यूट्यूब चैनल फिर से सक्रिय कर लिया है। उनका दावा है कि जहां त्सिखानोस्काया के पास यूरोपीय संघ से वैधता है, वहीं बेलारूसियों से नहीं। त्सिखानोस्की ने खुद और अपनी पत्नी सहित प्रमुख विपक्षी हस्तियों के एक पर्यवेक्षी बोर्ड के गठन का सुझाव दिया है ताकि अनुदान निधियों की देखरेख की जा सके।
