Former Olympic champion Angelina Melnikova is among three Russian gymnasts denied visas to enter the Netherlands for the upcoming World Artistic Gymnastics Championships. The 18-year-old Anna Kalmykova was also reportedly denied entry, while four other Russian gymnasts were allowed to travel. Russian officials plan to ask the International Olympic Committee and World Gymnastics to strip the event of its status as a qualifying event for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. This decision comes despite World Gymnastics clearing Russian gymnasts of restrictions in May.
