HAL Failed Stealth Jet Bid On Technical Grounds

HAL failed to qualify for building India's stealth jet due to routine technical grounds. Defence Ministry sources revealed that only three out of seven consortia met the mandatory technical and financial criteria for the project. HAL, which had partnered with two smaller firms for its bid, was among those that did not meet the requirements.
