The court acknowledged the constitutional right to peaceful assembly and protest, emphasizing that the state should intervene and engage with protesters.

बॉम्बे हाई कोर्ट ने मराठा आरक्षण कार्यकर्ता मनोज जरांगे पाटील की मुंबई तक प्रस्तावित मार्च के खिलाफ पहले से आदेश देने से इनकार कर दिया है। कोर्ट ने कहा कि सिर्फ आशंकाओं के आधार पर निर्देश नहीं दिए जा सकते। कोर्ट को राज्य सरकार पर भरोसा है कि वह स्थिति संभालेगी। कोर्ट ने शांतिपूर्ण प्रदर्शन के संवैधानिक अधिकार को भी माना और कहा कि राज्य को हस्तक्षेप कर प्रदर्शनकारियों से बात करनी चाहिए।
