Ahmedabad: Drug Case Accused Shot in Leg During Escape Attempt

A 59-year-old man, accused in a Rs 25.6 crore drug seizure case, was shot in the leg by a crime branch sub-inspector in Ahmedabad on Monday. The incident occurred near the Sabarmati riverfront as the accused, Kafil Ahmed Ansari, was being taken for a medical check-up. Police stated Ansari attempted to escape and scuffled with the sub-inspector, leading to the firing. Ansari was arrested last week with two others for allegedly transporting heroin and mephedrone.

अहमदाबाद में सोमवार को एक 59 वर्षीय व्यक्ति, जो 25.6 करोड़ रुपये के ड्रग्स जब्त मामले में आरोपी है, को क्राइम ब्रांच के एक सब-इंस्पेक्टर ने पैर में गोली मार दी। यह घटना साबरमती रिवरफ्रंट के पास हुई जब आरोपी, कफिल अहमद अंसारी, को मेडिकल जांच के लिए ले जाया जा रहा था। पुलिस ने बताया कि अंसारी ने भागने की कोशिश की और सब-इंस्पेक्टर से हाथापाई की, जिससे गोली चल गई। अंसारी को पिछले हफ्ते दो अन्य लोगों के साथ हेरोइन और मेफेड्रोन की तस्करी के आरोप में गिरफ्तार किया गया था।
