The Hindu · india
A petitioner challenging the Election Commissioners appointments law has been asked to mention his plea before the Chief Justice of India. The plea questions why Justice Satish Chandra Sharma did not disclose his son's role as standing counsel for the Election Commission of India during court proceedings. The case had resulted in a split verdict on September 23, with Justice Dipankar Datta asking the petitioner to approach the CJI. The petitioner seeks a recall of Justice Sharma's opinion regarding referring the challenge to the 2023 law to a larger bench.
