Madras HC Asks DVAC for Report on Raids, Recoveries in Last Five Years

The Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court has directed the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) to submit a report detailing surprise inspections and raids conducted over the past five years. Justice B. Pugalendhi specifically requested information on the total amount recovered, the number of prosecutions initiated, and the status of any disciplinary proceedings. The court also seeks government input on establishing uniform guidelines or a Government Order to set a maximum limit for cash government employees can possess while on duty, aiming to curb corruption and prevent harassment.

मद्रास हाई कोर्ट की मदुरै बेंच ने डायरेक्टोरेट ऑफ विजिलेंस एंड एंटी-करप्शन (DVAC) को पिछले पाँच सालों में की गई सरप्राइज इंस्पेक्शन और रेड्स का ब्यौरा देने का निर्देश दिया है। जस्टिस बी. पुगलेंदी ने खास तौर पर कुल बरामद राशि, शुरू की गई अभियोगों की संख्या और किसी भी अनुशासनात्मक कार्यवाही की स्थिति के बारे में जानकारी माँगी है। कोर्ट ड्यूटी पर सरकारी कर्मचारियों द्वारा रखे जा सकने वाले कैश की अधिकतम सीमा तय करने के लिए एक समान दिशानिर्देश या सरकारी आदेश (Government Order) स्थापित करने पर सरकार से इनपुट भी चाहता है, जिसका मकसद भ्रष्टाचार को रोकना और उत्पीड़न को रोकना है।
