BRS Alleges Power Utility Privatisation Plan

The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) has accused Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy of planning to privatise the state's power utilities, including Singareni Collieries, to benefit 'friendly' corporate companies. Former Energy Minister G. Jagadish Reddy claimed the Congress government aims to shed its holdings in power utilities and hand over control of Transco and Discoms. He cited past successes in ensuring 24x7 power supply under the previous government and warned that privatising distribution has not succeeded elsewhere in India.

भारत राष्ट्र समिति (बीआरएस) ने मुख्यमंत्री ए. रेवंत रेड्डी पर 'मित्र' कॉर्पोरेट कंपनियों को फायदा पहुंचाने के लिए सिंगारेनी कोलियरीज सहित राज्य की पावर यूटिलिटीज के निजीकरण की योजना बनाने का आरोप लगाया है। पूर्व ऊर्जा मंत्री जी. जगदीश रेड्डी ने दावा किया कि कांग्रेस सरकार का लक्ष्य पावर यूटिलिटीज में अपनी हिस्सेदारी बेचना और ट्रांसको और डिस्कॉम्स का नियंत्रण सौंपना है। उन्होंने पिछली सरकार के तहत 24x7 बिजली आपूर्ति सुनिश्चित करने में पिछली सफलताओं का हवाला दिया और चेतावनी दी कि वितरण का निजीकरण भारत में कहीं और सफल नहीं हुआ है।
