केंद्रीय गृह मंत्री अमित शाह ने चंडीगढ़ पुलिस को उनकी छह दशक की सेवा के सम्मान में प्रेसिडेंट्स पुलिस कलर प्रदान किया। उन्होंने शहर की सुरक्षा बढ़ाने के लिए मौजूदा 2,130 कैमरों के अलावा 2,152 AI-सक्षम निगरानी कैमरों को जोड़ने की भी घोषणा की। शाह ने नए आपराधिक कानूनों के तहत बल की दक्षता पर प्रकाश डाला, जिसमें 85% दोषसिद्धि दर और ऑनलाइन चार्जशीट दाखिल करने में तेजी का उल्लेख किया गया। उन्होंने विश्वास व्यक्त किया कि चंडीगढ़ पुलिस देश की पहली नशामुक्त पुलिस बल बनेगी, और नशीले पदार्थों तथा गैंगस्टर नेटवर्क के खिलाफ उनके प्रयासों की प्रशंसा की।
