JDU to Contest UP Elections Under Nishant Kumar; BJP's Gain or Loss?

Janata Dal (United) plans to contest the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, with Nitish Kumar's son, Nishant Kumar, leading the campaign. The party aims to establish roots in UP, particularly in seats bordering Bihar, targeting the influential Kurmi (Patel) community and other OBC/EBC groups. JDU seeks to expand its national footprint beyond Bihar and enhance its bargaining power within the NDA alliance. While JDU prefers to contest with BJP, they are prepared to go solo if seat-sharing talks fail, as they did in 2022.

जनता दल (यूनाइटेड) 2027 के उत्तर प्रदेश विधानसभा चुनावों में लड़ने की योजना बना रही है, जिसमें नीतीश कुमार के बेटे निशांत कुमार अभियान का नेतृत्व करेंगे। पार्टी का लक्ष्य यूपी में जड़ें जमाना है, खासकर बिहार से सटे सीटों पर, जिसका लक्ष्य प्रभावशाली कुर्मी (पटेल) समुदाय और अन्य ओबीसी/ईबीसी समूहों को साधने का है। जदयू बिहार से परे अपने राष्ट्रीय पदचिह्न का विस्तार करना चाहती है और एनडीए गठबंधन के भीतर अपनी मोलभाव शक्ति को बढ़ाना चाहती है। जबकि जदयू भाजपा के साथ मिलकर चुनाव लड़ना पसंद करती है, वे सीट-बंटवारे की बातचीत विफल होने पर अकेले जाने के लिए तैयार हैं, जैसा कि उन्होंने 2022 में किया था।
