Court Grants Woman Freedom to Live With Husband

The Allahabad High Court has granted a 26-year-old woman, Sonika Chauhan, the freedom to live with her husband, Akbar Khan. The court ruled that every adult has the right to choose their life partner under Article 21 of the Constitution. Sonika's father had filed a kidnapping complaint, leading to Akbar's arrest. However, Sonika stated in court that she married Akbar willingly under the Special Marriage Act in August 2022. The court directed authorities to ensure their safety and prevent interference from family members.

इलाहाबाद हाई कोर्ट ने 26 साल की सोनिका चौहान को उनके पति अकबर खान के साथ रहने की आजादी दे दी है। कोर्ट ने कहा कि संविधान के आर्टिकल 21 के तहत हर बालिग को अपना जीवनसाथी चुनने का हक है। सोनिका के पिता ने किडनैपिंग की शिकायत की थी, जिस पर अकबर को गिरफ्तार किया गया था। लेकिन सोनिका ने कोर्ट में बताया कि उन्होंने अगस्त 2022 में स्पेशल मैरिज एक्ट के तहत स्वेच्छा से अकबर से शादी की है। कोर्ट ने अधिकारियों को उनकी सुरक्षा सुनिश्चित करने और परिवार वालों को दखलंदाजी से रोकने का आदेश दिया है।
