Argentina's poverty rate has climbed to 32.3% in the first half of 2026, up from 28.2% in the preceding six months. This increase, driven by incomes failing to keep pace with rising prices, also saw extreme poverty rise to 7.5% from 6.3%. Worryingly, nearly half of all children aged 14 and under, specifically 44.5%, are now living in poverty. The data highlights a significant economic challenge for the nation.
