CBI Arrests IRS Officer, Lawyer in ₹1 Crore Bribe Case Linked to DHFL Probe

The CBI has arrested an IRS officer, Harish Kumar Tanwar, along with a Delhi-based lawyer, B Sharma, and his relative, A Sharma, in connection with an alleged ₹1 crore bribery case. The officer, a deputy director with SFIO in Chennai, was investigating a cheating case involving DHFL. The arrests followed the lawyer allegedly receiving ₹20 lakh as an initial payment of the demanded bribe. Searches at the officer's and lawyer's premises recovered suspicious materials, and the CBI is investigating further involvement of others.

सीबीआई ने कथित ₹1 करोड़ की रिश्वतखोरी के मामले में एक IRS अधिकारी, हरीश कुमार तंवर, दिल्ली के वकील बी शर्मा और उनके रिश्तेदार ए शर्मा को गिरफ्तार किया है। अधिकारी, जो चेन्नई में SFIO के उप निदेशक हैं, DHFL से जुड़े एक धोखाधड़ी के मामले की जांच कर रहे थे। यह गिरफ्तारी वकील द्वारा कथित तौर पर मांगी गई रिश्वत की पहली किस्त के रूप में ₹20 लाख प्राप्त करने के बाद हुई। अधिकारी और वकील के ठिकानों पर तलाशी में संदिग्ध सामग्री बरामद हुई है, और सीबीआई अन्य लोगों की संलिप्तता की आगे जांच कर रही है।
